CBS’s “Blue Bloods” Star Will Hochman is a recurring character on the series now but it wasn’t always that way!!
Will plays Joe Hill, The grandson of New York Police Commissioner Frank Reagan (played by Tom Selleck). Joe wasn’t introduced to the family until season 10 when he discovered they were related.
It was just revealed that when he auditioned for Blue Bloods in 2020, it was for a two-episode guest-star appearance. He filmed one episode right before the Covid shutdown, which became the cliffhanging season finale. That one episode has since blossomed into 14 episodes over two-and-a-half years with Hochman making frequent, recurring appearances.

I have never missed an episode in 13 years. This is my favorite show. The story finding Joe Hill in my opinion was the best story line in BB history. Joe Reagan was never on the show but has always been such a big part of the series that finding he had a son was a brilliant idea. Great writing and great casting. Since this was all done he needs to become a bigger part of the family. He filled the spot for his dad it sort of gave them Joe back so please let him become the 3rd Reagan boy. The episodes The End and Justify The Means were great loved to see the Reagan boys working together.More Joe in season 14 !
